erm. my little story about meeting muse backstage, aka the best few minutes of my life so far. I tried to jot down as much as I could remember in the order that I think it occurred in, however some of it is most likely not in the right spot, since my brain was completely out of whack for those few minutes. 

anyway, it’s rather long and probably boring. only putting it up for friends that may want to read it lol.

edit: tumblr is being ghey and won’t let me do the “read more” thing, so I apologise for the essay! XD

Walked into the room behind Bee, I remember spying Chris just smiling, and a bunch of signed The Resistance album booklets nearby. I could see them all smiling at us and standing up to greet us. I walked in and tried to go and shake someone’s hand, but the other people had already snagged a band member! I spied Dom by himself after a moment and went over and said hello, I may have introduced myself, not sure. I held out my left hand and Dom held out his right hand, so we couldn’t shake hands! I had so much crap in my right hand, I couldn’t swap hands. We both moved our hands around whilst laughing, before Dom turned his palm upwards and I grasped it and we both shook that way, exaggerating the handshake so much whilst grinning at each other and laughing, and Dom said “Nice to meet you!” then goes, “hi-five!” so we hi-fived. I then proceeded to show him the huge leopard print banner I made and had at the first Acer concert, and was like “Shit, I have so much stuff, hang on a minute” and placed it all down next to me on the arm of the couch and grabbed the leopard print banner. I said “I had this at the first Sydney show, not sure if you saw it but it was for your birthday, it’s leopard print…” and showed it to him and he was like “Ah, right…aww” and took it and placed it on the arm of the couch. I may have then said something about going to both Sydney shows and both Melbourne shows, and said they were amazing. Then Matt leaned around and said, “Oi, Dom, where’s the morphsuit?!” and I said “Yeah, you need to wear it!” and Dom looked at me and said, “Well, I was given one up in Sydney but it was too big, and got another one down here” and I said, “Oh yeah, I was one of the people who gave it to you!” and he said “Oh, right! And the one I got down here is at home…in my bedroom…” and said it in a sultry voice and gave me the biggest and cheekiest grin, his eyes were huge. Me, being an idiot due to being in such close proximity to Muse, completely did not get the innuendo, but Matt was near me and apparently gave him the biggest “WTF” look.

Dom was still grinning at me and began to laugh, so I started laughing as well. It was so sweet, the two of us just smiling and chuckling together. I then said, “Alright Dom, pinky promise me that you’ll wear the morphsuit?” whilst holding up my pinky, and he actually intertwined his pinky with mine, laughed and said “Alright!” I also noticed that there was their wardrobe nearby, with clothes in it, including a big leopard print jacket. I think I stopped and said “Oh my god” I was so shocked. Then Kate, the lady who led us backstage, said, “Georgia, have you got what you wanted signed yet?” (I didn’t even notice that she was around!) and I said “Oops, no!” So I leant down to pick my setlist up and pulled my permanent marker out of my pocket. I think as I was doing this, Kate said to Dom, “Georgia’s a very big fan!” (apparently this was because whilst we were waiting outside, my Mum had told Kate that I’d been to both Sydney gigs and that I was going to both Melbourne shows) I’m not sure what Dom said haha. Anyway, I handed the setlist to him and asked if he could please sign it. He turned around and leaned on the wall behind him to sign it, he even did an ‘x’ on it :D I asked Dom for a hug and he gave me a big one, and if I recall correctly he smelt rather nice. Around this time also, Matt was asking if anyone wanted a plectrum, I said, “oh my god yes please!” really loudly, then laughed and said oops sorry. Matt was holding out the plectrums in the palm of his hand and I was too scared to take one, and as there were only two left the other competition winners got them. Also, the other two guy winners asked Dom at some point if he had any drumsticks and he shrugged and said, “I’ve got nothing back here, sorry!”

 I picked up the rest of my Muse stuff and turned to Chris, and said “Thankyou so much for the harmonica!” and he smiled and said it was no problem at all. He signed my setlist, and I gave him this little mix-tape of Australian music. I said, “I made this mixtape of Aussie music, I’m not sure if you guys will want it or listen to it but…here you go.” And he said, “Oh, fantastic! I’ll definitely give it a listen.”

I then turned and someone was with Matt, possibly Bee, so I turned around and Chris was behind me by himself, so I asked for a hug and he said, “Yeah, of course!” and we hugged, and I said “Thanks again for the harmonica!” and he laughed.

So I turned back around and Matt was there by himself, and I said, “i don’t believe i’ve introduced myself yet, I’m Georgia!” and he smiled and possibly shook my hand and introduced himself, I really cannot remember. He was just staring into my eyes, so I blame them for distracting me haha.

So I then asked him to sign my setlist, and asked for a hug afterwards, and he gave me one. Then I almost asked for another hug (for a friend of mine) but I didn’t, and someone came over and handed him a plectrum, to which he turned and smiled and me and said, “Oh, here you go!” and held it out. I took it and at some point I must’ve pocketed it. I could hear Kate telling us to hurry up for the photo but I ignored her haha. I then asked Matt to sign this picture I took of him at Big Day out, I said, “I took this photo at Big Day Out this year and was wondering if you could please sign it.” I fumbled with my silver pen to give to him and he started to sign it, and I asked if he could make it out to me. He said, “Sure, what’s your name again?” and Kate goes, “Georgia.” And he said, “Oh, that’s right!” and signed it “to Georgia, love from Matt Bellamy” :3 Then he laughed and said, “Wow, that’s a pose to be proud of!” and I laughed too. He had my pen and almost set it down on the table, saying “Who’s is this?” and I was like “Ah yeah that’s mine” and quickly grabbed it hahaha.

I had also accidentally handed him a card which had messages from Musers in it, so I said, “Oh by the way, that’s a card with messages from a bunch of Muse fans on Twitter.” And he goes, “Oh, cool!” and smiled at it haha. Then he looked at me and said, “I really like your hair by the way.” And I said, “Thanks! I kind of based it off your red hair…” and he goes, “Really? My hair never looked that good though!” I may have laughed and told him that I loved his red hair, can’t remember. I then completely went blank and forgot that I had a hug with him only minutes earlier and said, “Can i please have a hug? …shit, wait, I already had a hug didn’t I?!” and he laughed and said yes. Then I quickly told him “By the way, I’ve had absolutely the worst year and Muse have just always been there for me” and I had tears in my eyes and almost started crying, and said “Oh man I’m about to cry!” and covered my mouth with my hands. I think he just smiled at me, maybe he said something, I can’t remember, but he held open his arms again and gave me another big hug.

Then we had to get the photo, and so we stepped in to the others. Matt was on the outside next to me, and actually wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me closer, so I put my arm around his waist, then he slid his arm up my back and slung it all the way over my shoulder so I copied him. Then I could see him lean his head in right next to mine, and thought, “Oh man I could so easily kiss him right now!” He then held the card up and leaned in closer. I was also sort of freaking out at the fact that Matt Bellamy was so close to me.

The photo was done and everyone was going to leave, but I could see Dom near me and I had this funny picture of a model completely decked out in leopard print, but I stuck Dom’s face on it. I said, “Look Dom, I saw this and immediately thought of you so…I thought you might like it” and Chris was leaning over and laughing at it as well. Dom was just looking up and down at the picture and was like, “What’s that..? Oh, you’ve stuck my face on it!” and I said, “Yeah, I mean clearly it’s not photoshopped at all…” and he laughed. I was then being rushed to leave so I started to, but saw Matt there and said, “Matt! Can you please play Ruled By Secrecy tomorrow?!” and I can’t remember what he said.

I was then sort of backing out of the room just saying random stuff, like saying thankyou and goodbye and saying that I’d been to four shows and they had all been amazing, the guys were just all standing there grinning at me. That’s all I can remember, particularly Matt, with his eyes aaah man. I think they may have been saying goodbye, I just can’t remember. I felt like such a psycho though! I could hear people laughing and I almost crashed into the doorframe, and I laughed, said one final goodbye and left in complete shock. 

Then Dom Anderson, aka the coolest roadie ever, took us onto the stage! We were warned not to touch anything, and that we only had a minute on there. So we were all racing around trying to get pictures and stuff, and I sat on Dom’s drum riser and touched Bellamy’s picks on his mic stand :3 It was crazy!

Got outside, and then cried so much. It was all so surreal.
